This video-based course has downloadable files to enable you see the various academic paper structures. The course is divided into 3 sections: Section 1 defines academic writing and discusses the three types of academic writing language (formal, objective, and technical language). This part also presents information about the four forms of academic writing (which include descriptive, analytical, critical, and persuasive writing). Section 2 presents the most popularly used academic paper structures such as abstract, essay, research paper, annotated bibliography, research proposal, dissertation, and reflection paper. Section 3 discusses additional paper structures that are at times required in academia. The section, thus, illustrates the creation of PowerPoint presentations, Memorandum (Memo), Personal Statement, and Resume or Curriculum Vitae.The knowledge and skills shared in this course are the tips I learned from my academic writing coach, my extensive reading process, and the instructions I addressed when completing academic assignments.
