He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, has been invited to give more than 250 lectures and speeches at international conferences, and has edited more than 10 chapters of academic monographs. Dr. Wagner has received a number of national and international academic awards for his pioneering research in the fields of shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery. Dr. Wagner's current clinical focus includes treatment of rotator cuff, shoulder osteoarthritis, and wrist and thumb arthritis. He also has a strong interest in translational research using stem cells, growth factors, surgery, and biomechanical therapies for cartilage and bone interface regeneration.Dr. Wagner is a member of the editorial board of the American Association for Surgeons of the Hand (ASSH), the Journal of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (THUES), and the European Journal of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EJOST). Dr. Wagner has also served as an invited reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS), the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (JSES), the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty (JSEA), and the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM).
