This course gives step by step simple instructions of how to approach questions and complete the 2017 paper 1 non-calculator past exam paper. It goes over in detail the basic maths needed to understand the early questions in the paper which are typical of the questions still used to this present day. It then goes on to show how these basic techniques are built upon to answer the later questions in the exam paper which again are also typical of the present day exams. This will enable the student to tackle the last questions which usually consists of a multiple of basic steps and also some more difficult maths topics which will need practiced problem solving techniques which you will learn from this course. This step by step approach will systematically build up the students understanding of the various Maths topics needed to complete the paper. This course is also an ideal way to revise basic topics in maths no matter what level you are. Following through a past exam paper is a good way to keep revision interesting and relevant. This level of maths is also a good way to exercise your brain if you are an adult learner and enjoy learning step by step problem solving techniques:-)Subject contentNumber.order positive and negative integers, decimals and fractions apply the four operations, including formal written methods, to integers, decimals and simple fractions (proper and improper), and mixed numbers - both positive and negativeunderstand and use place value (eg when working with very large or very small numbers, and when calculating with decimals)Ratio, proportion and rates of change.Algebrause and interpret algebraic notation, including Geometry and measures.Geometryuse conventional terms and notations: points, lines, vertices, edges, planes, parallel lines, perpendicular lines, right angles, polygons, regular polygons and polygons with reflection and/or rotation symmetriesuse the standard conventions for labelling and referring to the sides and angles of trianglesProbability.relate relative expected frequencies to theoretical probability, using appropriate language and the 0 to 1 probability scaleStatistics.appropriate measures of central tendency (median, mean, mode and modal class) and spread (range, including consideration of outliers)use and interpret scatter graphs of bivariate data know and understand the terms: positive correlation, negative correlation, no correlation, weak correlation and strong correlation
