The first of four courses in a dynamic, comprehensive series that provides a solid base in introductory physics and helps prepare you for the AP Physics 1 Exam. Free textbook included!
Explore the concepts of physics while preparing to take the AP Physics 1 exam. AP Physics 1 requires a deep understanding of many different topics in physics as well as an understanding of the AP exam and the types of questions it asks. The goal of this course is to help you prepare to successfully complete your AP exam!
Part 1 includes scientific practices and aligns to the six key ideas from the new AP Curriculum Framework. You will learn how to describe translational motion with kinematics and how forces alter an object’s state of motion. You will learn about the concepts of mechanical energy and momentum, and how their conservation laws affect motion. Finally, the impact of collisions between objects will be carefully studied. The course will cover these physical concepts through lectures, demonstrations, labs, and problem solving strategies.
As you work through this course, you will find lecture videos taught by expert AP physics teachers and Rice University professors, practice multiple choice questions and free response questions that are similar to what you will encounter on the AP exam and step-by-step tutorial videos to learn how to solve problems. By the end of the course, active participants will be ready to successfully complete the AP exam!
