Data Scientists are in demand in virtually every industry. Learn the essentials from MIT experts, partnering with Microsoft, for practical hands-on learning encompassing business problem definition, data acquisition and preparation, data exploration, machine learning modeling and evaluation, and the presentation of actionable results to management. The course also introduces data science technologies such as R, Python & Azure Machine Learning.

Data Science is an essential skill for analyzing and deriving useful insights from data, big and small. McKinsey estimates that by 2018, a 500,000 strong workforce of data scientists will be needed. The resulting talent gap must be filled by a new generation of data scientists.

This introductory data science course is ideal for individuals considering a career in the field of data science.

This course is organized into five weekly modules, each concluding with a quiz. By achieving a passing grade in the course assessment in the fifth week, you will receive a certificate demonstrating that you have acquired data science skills and knowledge. Apart from answering your questions on the forum, faculty will host an office hour to address questions you may have while undertaking this course.
