Now more than ever, you are working with people who think and look, different than you. You may also find yourself sharing space with coworkers who have very different beliefs than your own. To work most effectively in these more diverse workplaces, you must be able to engage with others across these differences. Making those connections can interrupt habits such as unconscious bias, which limits your ability to practice inclusion. This 45-minute course will give you the skills to bridge those divides, find common ground, and make better workplaces for everyone.

In this skills-based course, we will explore practical strategies and techniques to apply at work and in your daily life. You will learn about the difference between dialogue, discussion, and debate; micro-affirmations; and ways to be an ally—all skills that build inclusion in the workplace.

This course is a stand-alone, but can be taken combined with “Unconscious Bias: From Awareness to Action” to further develop your communication skills for managing the impact of unconscious bias. If you are seeking to develop and practice these skills and apply them to build a more inclusive workplace (and a more inclusive world), this course is for you. The course is also mobile-friendly.

  • How small but powerful acts of kindness (micro-affirmations) can lead to positive behavior changes
