本课以中国古代政治史、制度史演变的大势为主要线索，使同学对中国古代史的发展有一个比较清晰的框架。本课同时关注中华民族形成、中国版图形成等重大问题 的历史进程，并努力把握各个历史阶段在中国古代政治、制度、经济、社会发展演变上的特色。在讲授过程中，将历史学的知识性与学术性相结合，尽量吸取学界较 新研究成果，希望增强同学们对中国古代史的兴趣并引发同学们的思考。课程后有在线习题，最后还要有在线的期末考试，各占50％。
