¡La Química Orgánica está en todas partes! Simplemente nos rodea. ¿Te has dado cuenta que nosotros mismos somos Química Orgánica? Las moléculas biológicas son Química Orgánica. En este curso se introducen los fundamentos de la Química Orgánica y de la estructura molecular, sin que sea necesario tener ningún conocimiento previo de Química, ¡lo creas o no! El objetivo de este curso es que adquieras, sin darte cuenta, importantes rudimentos de la Química Orgánica. El curso satisfará tu curiosidad sobre la estructura molecular de numerosas sustancias, tanto naturales como de muchas otras creadas por la imaginación y destreza del Químico Orgánico. Apreciarás la importancia que ciertas moléculas tienen, sean naturales o no, sobre la preservación de la vida, el control de enfermedades y la producción eficiente de alimentos, así como sobre las limitaciones que tenemos en la producción de energía y nuestra incidencia sobre el medio ambiente. Descubrirás que la Química en general, y la Química Orgánica en particular, no es el problema, sino ciertamente la solución a una enorme cantidad de problemas cotidianos, ya sean simples o complejos. Por último y no menos importante, percibirás la belleza que hay encerrada en las moléculas y en el proceso creativo de los químicos para idearlas y sintetizarlas físicamente en el laboratorio o, a mucha mayor escala, en la industria.
 
Organic Chemistry is everywhere! It’s ubiquitous! Did you realize that we ourselves are Organic Chemistry? Biological molecules are Organic Chemistry. In this course you will be introduced to the foundations of Organic Chemistry and the structure of its molecules without the need of any previous knowledge of Chemistry at all, believe it or not! The goal of this course is to make you gain an insight into important rudiments of Organic Chemistry, without you even noticing! The course will fulfill your curiosity about the molecular structure of many substances, natural or non-natural, i.e. created by Nature or the organic chemist’s imagination and dexterity. You will perceive the importance of organic molecules on life preservation, health control and food production, and their incidence on energy production and environmental control as well, to speak of a few among an umpteen number of other areas. You will be shown that Chemistry in general, and Organic Chemistry in particular, is no longer the problem but the definite solution to almost all everyday-life problems, either simple or the most complex ones. Last but not least, you will be amazed by the beauty enclosed in every molecular structure and by the creative process used by Organic Chemists to plan a complex molecule and physically synthesize them either in the lab or at a larger scale in a factory.
