This course will help you understand how businesses create value, how to think with financials in mind and how to use financial information in business decision-making. We will start with the basics of financial statements and move to the conceptual framework of financial information and its relationship to industry, firms’ strategic positioning, and strategy execution.

I don’t speak Chinese, can I take the course?
Only the spoken language is Chinese. All the other materials are in English. There are many ways of learning this wonderful course for learners without Chinese background.
(a) Use the English subtitles, which are provided with the video player of the course webpage.
(b) Download the mp4 files and subtitles and use your favorite video player to watch the video.
(c) Download the dubbing mp3 files. When playing the video in the course webpage, turn off the volume in the video player of the course webpage and play the mp3 files with your favorite player at the same time with proper volume. The dubbing mp3 files are synchronized with the mp4 files. It’s almost the same feeling watching a foreign movie with the English dubbing.
What are the textbook and the reference books for this course?
There is no textbook requirement for this course. The handouts distributed every week are critical. Terminologies, definitions, and financial statements related to the course of a specific week will be provided in that part.
